What IMPT Hotels does
IMPT Hotels (impthotels.com) is the IMPT travel network’s Ireland-focused hotel directory. We aggregate every bookable hotel on the island — from Adare Manor to small Donegal B&Bs — and route bookings through the IMPT travel platform at app.impt.io.
Same property inventory as the major OTAs. Same room rates as the hotel’s direct booking page. Same cancellation policies, same loyalty programmes (where the chain offers them). What changes is what we choose to do with the booking commission.
The carbon mechanic, in plain English
For every booking made through IMPT, we use part of the commission the hotel pays us to retire 1 tonne of UN-verified CO₂ on the Ethereum blockchain. The retirement is permanent — the credit cannot be sold a second time — and is registered against your booking ID.
- UN-verified. The credits we retire come from the United Nations Carbon Offset Platform — not unverified voluntary registries.
- On-chain. Each retirement is recorded on Ethereum. The transaction hash, the credit registry source and the booking ID are all verifiable.
- 1 tonne per booking. Roughly 28× the average per-night carbon footprint of a hotel stay (Cornell Hotel Sustainability Index reference).
- Funded from our commission. The room price you pay is the standard rate. We pay for the offset; you don’t.

- 5% back per stay, split:
- 3% to a carbon cause of your choice
- 2% to next-stay credit in your IMPT wallet
The Goodness mechanic applies within H10 cap and on top of any rate plan including last-minute and discounted rates.
Methodology — how we decide what to list
Every property listed on impthotels.com meets all of:
- Bookable inventory on the IMPT travel platform with live availability
- Same price as the hotel’s direct rate at booking time (we match, never mark up)
- UN-verified offset retirement attached to every reservation, no exceptions
- Cancellation terms identical to direct (we don’t add OTA-specific cancellation rules)
We do not curate based on “greenness” of individual properties. The carbon offset is applied to every booking, whether the hotel is a 5-star eco-resort or a 2-star B&B. The offset is the offer; the property is the choice.

By the numbers
How we work with the carbon registries
The credits we retire are sourced from the United Nations Carbon Offset Platform. We retire each credit on-chain via Ethereum. The retirement transaction hash is captured against your booking ID and is verifiable independently of IMPT’s own systems.
We do not use unverified voluntary credits, “avoidance” credits without verifiable additionality, or self-issued credits. The offset is real, the retirement is permanent, and the credit cannot be re-sold.

How we verify the carbon offset
Each booking generates a retirement transaction on Ethereum. The transaction hash, the UN-registry credit ID, and the booking ID are all logged on-chain.
To verify any specific booking’s offset:
- Email hello@impt.io with the booking ID
- You receive: the Ethereum transaction hash, the UN registry credit reference, and the dated retirement receipt
- The transaction is independently verifiable on Etherscan and the UN Carbon Offset Platform
We chose Ethereum because it’s the most-audited public ledger; the verification is reproducible by anyone with the booking ID, and there’s no opacity in the offset chain.
