Founder of IMPT — a hotel booking and shopping platform that pays for the carbon out of its own commission. Same 1.7M hotels as the big sites, same prices, but every stay quietly removes about a tonne of CO₂.
Mike English is the founder of IMPT — a hotel booking and shopping platform that quietly takes the carbon out of every transaction. IMPT covers ~1.7 million hotels across 195 countries, and pays for the carbon offset out of its commission, not the customer's pocket.
Before IMPT, Mike spent 25+ years building hospitality and technology businesses out of the south of Ireland. He grew up in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, where he still lives with his family. His daughter Bronagh's death in 2025 reshaped how he thinks about urgency, family, and what's worth building.
IMPT is the answer to a simple question: can a normal travel and shopping platform — same hotels, same prices, free cancellation — also remove a measurable amount of CO₂ for every customer who uses it? Mike's bet is yes. Every booking on IMPT removes about a tonne of CO₂ — roughly 28 nights of a hotel stay — and the proof sits on a public ledger.
